Although Microsoft has a sample forum at www.asp.net, it is decidedly NOT ready for prime time yet. After surveying the landscape, I settled on InstantForum.NET. I think we're going with this forum software for the long run.

I just thought I would drop you a line to tell you how impressed I was with the level of customer support offered. We'd been having a problem which turned out to have been caused by WebMatrix and which was therefore not obvious to solve via the normal ticket channel. InstantASP ended up working me through it via MSN messenger, at 9pm the night before last. I've never come across that level of customer care before and it means that if & when any of our clients need a forum, we'll be buying this for sure.
