The active directory module allows quick and easy integration to small business and enterprise networks, by providing an out of the box solution to windows authentication by allowing administrators to pair InstantKB.NET user accounts to active directory logins.Thanks to our account pairing system, all configured active directory logins also have a forms authentication equivalent, as such, Administrators have a choice of either allowing the user the choice of either a standard .Net forms authentication login or an active directory authentication validated by your domain.
Seamless login can also be achieved for users logged in to the domain either on your office LAN/WAN or linked into your system via VPN. Windows authentication can also be configured to allow active directory to validate a user off site at the administrators discretion.
Extensive configuration options will allow you to specify the security combination and process to suit your environment and security needs, including the ability to restrict knowledgebase access to a specific active directory user-group.
